Joey Wölffer is changing how you shop - no, it's not online, and it's not a boutique – but a former potato chip truck turned beautifully curated shop on wheels. We talked to Joey about her fashion icons, her recent marriage, and her truck breaking down on the side of the road.

Fodor's Travel Tastemaker: Styleliner Creator and Style Maven Joey Wölffer

In 2010, with an itch for travel and an eye for fashion, Joey Wölffer launched the Styleliner, a mobile boutique (think food truck, but for lovers of style). Finding that first truck wasn't without its challenges for the former jewelry designer: "I sent my husband on a wild goose chase, to all the food trucks in New York to find out where they got their vehicles," she explained. "But nobody would tell him! They're very competitive." Eventually someone did give him a name, and the Styleliner got its wheels, peddling unique global accessories that Wölffer procures from her travels all around the world. And if Wölffer's name already sounds familiar, it's probably because she also co-owns her family's gorgeous Wölffer Estates Vineyard in Southampton, her home base when she's not trotting the globe.

We recently spoke with Wölffer who shared haggling tips, and ways to find unique items when traveling; plus, she shared what may just be the world's most romantic desert proposal.

First Look: Styleliner’s Pop-Up Igloo Is Now Open!

Taking the term “winter wonderland” to a whole new level, The Styliner ladies are back in DC this winter, and in lieu of their (amazing) truck, they have erected a pop-up igloo right in front of Hotel Dupont, filled TO THE BRIM with perfect accessories, hand picked by founder Joey Wolffer.

Last night, we stopped by the opening event (and definitely left out with some bejeweled tights and silver encased coral necklaces in tow) to scope out what will be on offer in front of Bar Dupont for the next 4 weeks (added bonus: BYT’s Style Licks editor Kate Greene will be on hand every day to help guide you through the very hard purchasing decision process ahead)

Styleliner Igloo Pops Up at Bar Dupont

Styleliner is already known for its innovative boutique—a roving delivery truck full of accessories that made stops in DC this past summer—but the brand is branching out with another fun structure this holiday season: the Styleliner Igloo. Temporarily constructed on the patio of Bar Dupont at the Dupont Circle Hotel, the pop-up boutique is open through December 24.
The Styleliner brand is curated by founder and co-owner Joey Wolffer, and sells signature jewelry, bags, shoes, hats, and scarves by a host of international designers, including Italian designer Franco Ferrari. “We have new jewelry from Babylone and KMO, both Parisian designers that were DC favorites last time we were in town,” Wolffer says, noting that much of the jewelry comprises recent finds from her trips to London, Paris, and the Netherlands.
